About the organization

Andhra Pradesh Forest Department is one of the administrative divisions of Government of Andhra Pradesh. It is headed by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Head of Forest Force. The primary function of this department is protection, conservation and management of forests in the Andhra Pradesh State. The Forest Department is organized into 12 territorial circles and 43 divisions. In addition, one Senior Officer of the rank of Deputy Conservator of Forests functions as Planning and Extension Officer in each district.

Educational Qualification

Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree of a University in India established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or State Act or a Provincial Act or an Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission; or any equivalent qualification in the following subjects:-

(I)            Agriculture

(II)           Botany

(III)          Chemistry

(IV)         Computer Applications / Computer Science

(V)          Engineering (Agriculture / Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical)

(VI)         Environmental Science

(VII)        Forestry

(VIII)       Geology

(IX)         Horticulture

(X)          Mathematics

(XI)         Physics

(XII)        Statistics

(XIII)       Veterinary Science

Physical Requirements: No person shall be eligible for appointment by Direct Recruitment unless:

For Men:

i.      He is not less than 163 Cms. in height;

ii.     He has 79 Cms. around the chest on expiration  and must have on full inspiration, an expansion of not less than 5 cms;  and

iii.    He is able to walk 25 Kms. in Four (4) hours.

For Women:

i.      She is not less than 150 Cms. in height;

ii.     She has 74 Cms. around the chest on expiration  and must have on full inspiration, an expansion of not less than 5 cms; and

iii.    She is able to walk 16 Kms. in four (4) hours.

Provided further that in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes and races such as Gurkhas, Nepalese, Assamese, Meghalaya, Ladakh, Nagaland, Manipuri, Goutha, Kashmiri, Sikkimese, Bhutanese and Tripura, the minimum standard of height shall be as follows: For Men        : 152 Cms. 

For Women  :  145 Cms

N.B: Common for Men and Women: Must undergo a medical Examination to be conducted by the Medical Board at Rajamahendravaram and produce a health

certificate signed by the Medical Board in the form prescribed by Article 49 of the Civil Service Regulations testifying to the candidates sound hearing and general physical fitness for outdoor work in the Forest Department and to the fact that he bears on his body marks of successful vaccination.

EXPLANATION:

Provided that the persons referred to at Sl. Nos. 2 & 3 above shall, after making the deductions referred to in sub Rule 12 (c) (i) & (ii) of A.P. State and Subordinate Service Rules not exceed the Maximum age limit prescribed for the post.

The age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen is applicable for those who have been released from Armed Forces other than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency.
